Your writing and your email.

Your outlines

The outline tool stores your work in this browser on this device. Story Ruler does not upload your outline through the public website. Clearing browser data can remove it. Download a JSON backup to keep a copy you can reopen.

The field guide form

When you submit the guide form, Story Ruler collects the email address you enter, whether you chose updates, and the form’s source and consent version. Jacob Sager operates Story Ruler. Netlify processes and stores form submissions for the site and applies spam filtering.

The form opens a download page immediately. Submitting it does not sign you up for writing ideas or product announcements unless you select the optional updates checkbox. If updates are sent, they will include a way to unsubscribe.

Other services

The site uses Netlify hosting and Google Fonts. Requests to these services include ordinary connection information such as your IP address. Links to external sites have their own privacy practices.
